My Day with Isabel

I spent the afternoon with Nicole and Isabel. What joy! Isabel is changing every day and Nicole and I decided it is happening way too fast. So, we are taking lots of pictures. We tried out her swing (just ok) and a new outfit that looked pretty spiffy. We also made her footprints since they don't do it in the hospital any more. She wasn't too pleased with black, wet feet.
I loved these pictures. She is fascinated with her long, beautiful fingers.

Cami and Isabel

We have had a great weekend. Cami arrived from Houston on Thursday and we all spent the weekend watching Isabel sleep and eat. Who would think that would be so entertaining...well, it is! Craig and I are pleased to announce we are the A-1 typical, over-the-top grandparents, and proud of it. We loved being parents and we really love being grandparents.

It was so fun to have Cami home for a few days. She and Nicole and I had pedicures, laughed, ate, talked and held Isabel. It was hard to see her leave this morning, but fortunately, we will be in Houston in about two weeks so that helps.

We took a few more pictures of Isabel. Here are just a couple and Whitney sent an album she made from last weekend. Thanks, Whit, the pictures are wonderful. If you are able to download it, it is worth the effort. Good luck http://picasaweb.google.com/whitstod/IsabelDeloneONeil21309?authkey=AgjDcI2zuLc&feat=email# Mom, I was able to highlight this web address and paste it into the address space at the top of the page. That way you don't have to type the whole thing. Let me know if it works. Meanwhile, here are a couple new pics.

If this video works, you will love it. The baby on the left is Isabel and the baby on the right is Julianna. Nicole and Chris are very good friends with Camille and Nathan. They delivered their baby girls within 30 minutes of each other in the same hospital with the same obstetrician. Both beautiful girls and destined to be great friends.

Whitney and Ryan braved the blizzards and arrived the night Isabel was born about 11 pm. They spent the day in the hospital passing beautiful Isabel back and forth. She loves to be held and seems to like the background noise of all of us in the room. It's a good thing, cuz this has been a very busy and wonderful weekend.

Day 2 of Isabel

We are loving every minute with Isabel Delone O'Neil. Yep, that's her beautiful name. The middle name is from my mom who is also a hero to our family.
The O'Neils will come home tomorrow and start this wonderful new experience.

This is going to become a way for me to journal our new experiences and record Isabel's progress for our family that can't be here with us. Don't feel like you have to come along, but you are welcome to join us. So, here we go.

Whitney and Ryan drove for 10 hours through the snow to be here and Cami is flying out next week. They are so excited! And, she is well worth the trip.

I'm a grandma!!!

This has to be up there with the all time great events.

Chris and Nicole have waited most patiently and it is so worth it. None of us can quit smiling. What a miracle.

They haven't finalized her name yet, but Isabel is high on the list.

Nicole was induced at 1:30 pm today and delivered at 5:30. Isabel weighed in at a petite 6 lb. 1 1/2 oz., 18 3/4 inches long, black hair, big swollen eyes, a dimple in her chin, and long legs and fingers, beautiful skin. She is so beautiful and it was love at first sight for grandpa and grandma.

Most important, here are a few pictures an hour after delivery. Nicole was amazing and Chris was smiling from ear to ear.
